There are not one but two new DVDs slate for release this year and next.

In September, a newly-restored version of the the 1992 director's cut will be released and will be available for a limited time. Then at some point next year, the film will be re-released theatrically and the DVD will be replaced by yet another edition. For the film's 25th anniversary, there will be a new multi-disc special edition, Blade Runner: The Final Cut,which reportedly will have three different versions of the film, including not only the "director's cut" and the original theatrical version, but also an expanded international cut.

Gee thanks to our groovey new feature, the DVD cataloging, I see 4 of us have the Director's Cut, just going to watch it now {again}..anyhoo, it is such a trip down memory lane for us anyway, it was the very first VHS we ever rented and we had to rent the player as well..that was almost 25 years ago and it was such a new thing then..WOW...
I like this version, it omits Deckard's voiceover narration. Anybody who loves the movie should watch this version sometime. There are some other changes/additions that make it a slightly different movie.

I like this movie because it makes you think a bit as well.
