Okay, I don't normally write reviews about movies but I feel very strongly about this one.

I went to see Soul Surfer, the movie about Bethany Hamilton, the 13 year old girl who lost her arm in a shark attack. I may be a little partial because I have followed her story in the past but the movie was done very well. AnnaSophia Robb's performance seemed really genuine and the rest of the cast (Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, Carrie Underwood, Lorraine Nicholson (Jack Nicholson's daughter)) came across as very heartfelt. The surf scenes and locations were phenomenal as well.

It was nice to see a positive movie for a change. Most anymore are violent and seem money driven, whereas this was a very moving story. It definitely gets an A in my book!

I thought Soul Surfer was an inspiring movie as well, and as a fan of classic movies, I agree that it's nice to see a modern film that works without needing to sell itself on sex and over-the-top violence. Perhaps if movies today were forced to focus more on the stories than the visuals, we would see more box office successes and less eye candy that goes stale after a savory scene or two.

I watched this today and loved it. A nice movie based on TRUE events. I give alot of credit to this girl, having to start all over trying to learn how to do the basic things in life most of us take for granted. I do agree, a very positive movie, it really made my day. I give this move a 5/10

finally saw Soul Surfer.

Great movie, of course. The real life story is too powerful and profound to be anything else.

As far as the actual craft of movie making is concerned...the movie is really pretty average, nothing special. But, considering the actual story behind it, I would rate it as 5 stars...even if the actual craft is pretty mediocre.

Stay tuned as the credits role, for a good 3 - 5 minutes of film of the actual gal...and that 3 - 5 minutes is as good as the rest of the film.

Amazing story. Completely inspiring.
