I liked this movie a lot!!

The film's visual aesthetics and designs were vivid, stunning and magnificent!

This movie was great fun and also in true Alien movie tradition had me hiding my eyes and squirming in my seat more than a few time.

I'm not saying a word about the plot or anything. (Except expect a Prometheus II) And I will also add, the movie, just like life, leaves unanswered questions, and if we do find an answer, it will only in turn lead to another question.

In the acting department, Michael Fassbender owned this movie.

I'd really like to say more about a few aspects of the film. But I'll save them for after a few more people have watched it.

Agree, it was a pretty good movie. There were a few plot holes here and there that you thought Ridley Scott would have tightened up a bit.

Overall, it was a lot better than I was expecting and probably need to see it a few more times to make a better judgement on it.....right now I'd put it ahead of Alien Resurrection and Alien 3 Theatrical cut, but behind Alien 3 DC, Aliens and Alien....I think it needs to grow on me a bit more.


Completely agree that Fassbender stole every scene he was in...

A comment about the story, how come they always have the dumbest scientists ? so stupid that when they see something that looks like a hissy and toothsome Space Cobra, they essentially walk right up to it and say: "aw, pretty pretty!"

Because even my dog knows that if something hisses at him—he'd best back of it.

Exactly!!!!....or how about scientists travelling all that way only to get spooked out easily and want to return to the ship....or the medic chamber in Theron's quarters being programmed only for a male....or not knowing that the storm was coming, but then knowing how long it was until it would be over....there's a bunch in there.

What I did like about the movie were the homages to the original....just in dialogue "I want to see it" (Alien 3), "We're Leaving!" (Aliens) or how when the moon rover ran over the guy on fire it was shot IDENTICAL to when the tank rolls over the Aliens when they're leaving the compound...just so many subtle homages to the original movies in there...

That horse shoe shaped ship is the same kind as the ship that is found in the original Alien movie on planet LV-426, the planet in this movie is LV-233 and in the same part of space.

So the Engineers had multiple ships going out on missions to perhaps destroy worlds and their creation, a bio-weapon, wasn't contained very well was it!!!

There were many derelict ships on the planet, according to David, so this is not the same ship that was found by Nostromo and not the same planet. Another ship was taking off and the Space Jockey was killed when the Queen burst out of his chest.

I think we have barely scratched the surface of this story.
