They'd never hurt you, Fletcher. You're their lawyer.
--Ooh. That was below the belt. Try to keep the gloves up.

Happy July 4th everyone!!!

I was listening to the radio yesterday and heard this from my classic rock station and thought it should be out there for everyone whose state has banned fireworks...

"You can have my illeagal fireworks when you pull them out of my dead, cold fingers.....which are laying over there."

That's great our classic rock station was having people call in and elaborate on their own personal firework mishaps, there were some real beauts.
Our little town was like living in a war zone last night there were so many illegal fireworks going off.

Unfortunatly it rained here, so not many fireworks. But earlier in the day, we went to a metro park on lake Erie. The veiw was just spectacular, it opens into the ocean.

Gotta tell you what happen to a gal I know on the 4th...

In the middle of the night somebody let off a pop-bottle rocket..it went under her car and caught it on fire...it subsequently burned up her car and 5 other cars and burned down the carport at her Apartment building...

In the early 90's I spent New Year's Eve in Amsterdam. The Dutch are so incredibly reckless with fireworks!!! I saw guys walking around carrying handfulls of rockets..they would lay one or two horizontally on the roof of bus shelters, light them and laugh as they whizzed about a foot over the heads of the thousand or so people in the Dam Square and crash/explode into the wall opposite (providing of course it hasn't smashed into some poor bastard's head or face on the way!!!)

On the way back to our hotel we witnessed guys lining up rows of 'Roman candle' type fireworks across a road..when a car approached they would run out and light them all so the car would either have to stop and wait for the 6ft high wall of coloured flames and sparks and thick blinding smoke to die down or, most often, just drive straight through it (much to the delight of the onlookers) oblivious to what may be coming the other way due to the smoke
.
Also their fire crackers/bangers/jumping jacks are full of red confetti. We were walking home and some arsehole lit a huge fire cracker and dropped it from a high balcony. It exploded about 2ft above our heads like a gun shot showering us in confetti. Scared the living sh*t out of us. However it could have quite as easily landed on our heads or gone of right in front of our faces!! Oh my! The Dutch find the possibility of facial scarring and third degree burns such a hoot!
