I'm sure this one will be a memorable one for us this Christmas.....Turkeys were on sale for $0.77 / lb so I went and they only had small and large ones....it was like Black Friday at the Grocery store so I just reached in and grabbed one.....Family of 5 having a 27lb bird for Xmas this year!

Had to buy a new Roastpan too because ours was too small....so I guess I wasn't really ahead in the end.

As an avid waterfowl hunter, I have a lot of memories of birds. But one that comes to mind....I was out hunting one day with my uncle and I stood up in the boat and was looking out over the lake when a green-winged teal (smallest species of North American ducks) flew in from behind us, right over the cattails and knocked my hat off my head. It almost knocked me out of the boat and I almost crapped my pants. It must have pulled up at the last second or it would've smoked me square in the head.

i haven't had lots of bad luck with birds, but there was this one time, i was standing outside, and i didn't realize that a bird pooped on my head and some on my back, and when i touched my head, i felt something and looked at my hand that it was all white!!! it was really disgusting!!! i had to take a shower right away!!! very memorable, huh. lol

I've never been physicall pooped on by a bird, but let me tell ya. They don't like me. Anytime I wash my car, it seems that they search my car out and attack it with feces.

My bird story includes my daughter. She is an animal lover to the hilt. One day, I am sitting at the kitchen talbe enjoying a morning cup of coffee. She and her brother leave to go to the busstop down the street. Not long after they leave, she shows back up in the kitchen. I turn around and shes got a bird in her hands. Of course, being a mom, I worry about germs, disease, and it hurting her. She on the other hand worries about the bird. I call around and find a rhab center that will take a look at it. of course, it's several counties over. She will not go to school until we get the bird to the rehab. The whole way there, she gently holds the bird soothing it. Long story short, it had broken wing. It was able to heal and it was returned to the wild. I love my daughter's compassion for animals, but hopefully next time she will think about the disease aspect of holding a bird.

My story is the classic tale of the bird pooping on me. We went to Singapore to meet with my husband. After getting all dolled up and ready, my daughter in my arms, we walked out to catch a cab to go to the pier. Standing under a huge banyan-like tree just as the cab was pulling in I felt sometime drop on my shoulder. My then 3 yr old daughter screamed like crazy. Had to go back to the room to get change. Classic but doesn't get any better than that )

I was staying in Plymouth with my ex boyfriend in a hotel and as it was getting late we decided to go out and buy some ice cream so that we could eat it in bed while watching a film. there was a spar just accross the road.

We get there and find out that the spar is shut and we got there too late so we start wondering across the road back to the hotel when i feel something fall on my nose.

A bird had **** on my nose and down my front, I proceeded to have a fit in the middle of the street infront of random strangers and my boyfriend at the time, ha no wonder we aren't together anymore lol
