Egg...I think you'll find that the majority of people on this forum are American and Australian. There are only about a handful of Brits on here and I've no idea if any of them have been to Thorpe Park.

I have and my favourite was the big 10 loop roller coaster 'Colossus'

Yeah... I've never even heard of it. But then again I am the kind of person who has been to Kings Island (our largest, closest amusement park) only once and I have never rode a roller coaster. So I don't give myself much credit on things like this.

I've never been on one that the floor drops out but I have been on one of those before.

They're good, small, cheap rides that the carnies can set up at any county fair - in fact, that's where I first saw one, at the Montgomery County Fair in Maryland when I was a kid. They're great fun, especially when you either a) get on with someone who can stand perpendicular to the wall as it's spinning or b) someone throws up.

I was at a carnival once, and the Gravitron (that's what we call it) broke, it fell...tipped right over and everyone fell on top of one another. No one was really hurt, but a few people had minor concussions.

It's called The Rotor over here....there is also another version where you are strapped in and once the centrifugal force has pinned you to the outside edge...it begins to change angle until the drum is revolving almost vertically..
that's always a a good one!
