If you tried to visit the main site and the forums over the past two days, you probably noticed that the main site was down or that the forums and DVD Catalog system weren't working. I have been working for 48 hours with very little sleep to get things back up and running.

What happened? The drive on the server completely failed and could not be brought back to life, despite numerous tries at the data center in Texas, where the server is located. Apparently, it had been sluggish for some time, which also explains why I was having issues backing up the forums for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, I had to roll the forums and DVD Catalog system back to April 17. More recent backups would not restore the database, as they were incomplete due to issues with the failing drive. For some of you, this might not be too big of a deal, but for others who regularly update their DVD Catalog, I understand your frustration.

I guess if there was ever a Back-to-the-Future moment, it would be now. So, for those of you who've made some poor choices, just think, you get to travel back two months to April 17, 2012 and start over. Keep an eye out for Biff. Anyway, I know it sucks and it's not something to joke about, but after pulling my hair out for two days, I need to breath a little.

On a good note, I upgraded the server to a better, faster, more kick ass server with a significant amount of room to expand.

Appreciate you getting it all back online, I guess this gives me a good chance to go over my collection again and ensure that everything is up to date.
