Default My Bloody Valentine 3D

I went to the theater with my two friends with two seperate sections of expectations: the expectations as a real motion picture and the expectations as a good slasher throwback.

This succeeded well in the latter...not so much in the former.

The 3-D is great, and the deaths I actually found quite creative (except for a certain eye-gouging scene ripped directly from Zombie aka Zombie Flesh Eaters). The acting was standard for a film of this caliber as was the plot, although the choice for the lead kid I found dissapointing. He didn't seem freaked to me at all.

Still, I found that this fun little throwback will make you cringe and make popcorn fly through the air. But in the case of those looking for serious celluloid: ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE.

7.5/10

I figured it would be about like that. I'll prolly watch it because of the 3-D effects.

I'm being dragged...no that isn't fair..I'm going along with Vix and a friend to see this on Saturday afternoon. Neither of them has seen a 3D film before. I've seen three..and the Spurs v Man Utd FA Cup tie is on the TV live at the same time we're gonna be at the cinema...*sigh*

mind you..if I blow off a cinema cdate with my girlfriend to watch live footy..we'll lose badly. If i don't watch it live we'll stuff Man Utd and I'll be gutted I missed it live...it's Sod's Law.

So I've decided to watch the film and not upset my girlfriend.

Actually to her credit she did say that as I love live footy so much (and it's the team I support playing) she doesn't mind if I stay home and watch the game. But I don't want to be one of those selfish, inconsiderate, macho, testosterone fuelled men who would rather watch football than spend time with the woman he loves(whom I only see at weekends anyway and I've got to work 10-4 on Saturday as well).

I reckon you should stay home and watch the mighty United stuff Spurs. Well, only if Rio is back, otherwise we're in a lot of trouble.

I'd really like to see this movie as I think I've only ever been to 1 3D movie and that was so long ago that I don't remember much about it, other than wearing those glasses. Not sure whether it's showing anywhere near me though which is a shame.

It's showing in 3D at The Trocadero near Leicester Square, Kermit. That's where we're going to see it anyway.

Nice. Bit expensive though I imagine? The trouble is I'm at University at the moment, on the outskirts of London so the nearest cinema to me is the Vue at Staines. It seems only the cinemas in Central London are showing the film in 3D, as the Vue at Shepherd's Bush is showing the movie but only in 2D. The Odeon in Wimbledon is showing it but I think I'll just have to give this a miss and hope another 3D movie comes out some time soon. Thanks anyway.

Feltham isn't too far, seems the cinema is only a mile walk from the station too. If I have the time I might go along. Thanks Charlie.

Are 3D films any more expensive than regular films?
