I remember reading that as a nipper at Primary School.

The latest on the film is that a live-action movie version is currently in post-production, with Spike Jonze directing, due in theaters on October 16, 2009. Featuring Catherine Keener, and introducing Max Records as Max, the film also has Lauren Ambrose, Chris Cooper, James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara and Forest Whitaker providing the voices of some of the Wild Things.

It isn't a book that ever appealed to me. My guess is that they've made it because of the slight similarity to The Gruffalo, which is [I think] the most popular childrens book of recent times......[and is quite wonderful....]

The entire text of Where The Wild Things Are is only ten sentences long....it's obviously meant for the very young. The art work is iconic, though and I think that's probably what swayed the producers to do it as a CGI/Live action film.

I hope you know about it.

I think it was a dumb move to make a movie. Although, it sure is realistic. Excellent directing, and camera work.

I remember reading this look in the library when I was little. I'm looking forward to seeing what they did with it.
