I am looking forward to this alot, I am really liking Robert Downey Jr.these last few years, getting clean and sober was a great move for him. I've also liked Jude Law. This movie looks like a lot of fun.

Although I would have never thought of them as Holmes and Watson.

Brad Pitt has been drafted in to film a few additional scenes as Professor Moriarty. I'll type that again so it sinks in..Brad Pitt is playing Prof. Moriarty!!

Oh that's just not right. I could see Russell Crowe as Moriarty for some reason.

I can actually see this working. Moriarty is essentially the criminal equivalent of Holmes and so if you cast Downey Jnr as Holmes then Pitt would make a good opponent. Both can play attractive, cunning and charming men well and if they happened to get into a physical fight on a cliff overlooking a waterfall it would be pretty close.

I'm confuse? What's the difference between "movie reviews" and "upcoming movies" post?

Anyway, I'm a Sherlock fan and have read the novels. I also recently saw the trailer and Imo it doesn't fit. The trailer is only 3 minutes, but makes you cringe. I like being entertained, but I also like some version of the character holding true.

i read an interview from ritchie defending his outrageous take regarding the characters, which i don't buy and stick to my " it'll be an enjoyable romp" approach to this

and i'm with cicero with, if ritchie is gonna go so far out of the box having downey as holmes, the insanity of having pitt as moriarty in such a topsy turvy world. . . a sane move. Doesn't make it right, but then accuracy isn't what this one is about anyway, ya know
