I wasn't too excited about this one, either, but my friend who's a huge RZ fan linked me to the "leaked" trailer, and WOW, it really looks like they're doing something totally new with the Michael Myers mythos.. now I really want to see this

I, unlike most of the people on this forum, love Rob Zombie. I love his music and his movies. I have seen every one of his movies in theaters. I am not overly excited about this movie, but why break the trend?

I loved Halloween. I thought that it was great that Rob Zombie gave a bit of a back story too MM. I can't wait for the sequel. Saying that though, I have'nt seen the original.

I did like the backstory, too. Didn't like when it just became a cliff notes version of the original, though. This one looks like it's more a totally new take on the material than a remake, at least that's what it seems like from the trailer.

Also, see the original. Not to compare it to the new ones, but just because it's a classic horror film that inspired the decades of slasher/stalker films that came after it, and really worth seeing
