Peanuts Holiday Collection Blu-ray Contest (Blu-ray + DVD Pack)
Join the Peanuts gang for three of their most memorable holiday adventures. First, spend your Halloween with It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Tag along as Charlie Brown goes to a for-real Halloween party and watch as Linus attempts to get a glimpse of the arrival of the mysterious but benevolent Great Pumpkin. Next, enjoy your Thanksgiving feast with a side of Peanuts with A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Charlie can barely make toast, let alone Thanksgiving dinner, which is why he finds himself in a jam when Peppermint Patty and friends arrive. Can Snoopy harness his inner Pilgrim, don his chef hat, and save the day? Last, pour a cup of eggnog and savor A Charlie Brown Christmas. Like Charlie does in the film, it might help you to embrace the meaning of the season, even if you are stuck with a seemingly decrepit little Christmas tree. For more information on this and other Blu-ray releases, visit Warner Bros. ![]() To Enter the Contest: For many of us, these 3 nostalgic Peanuts films bring back memories of holidays gone by. In a reply to this post, share with everyone one of your favorite (or not so favorite) holiday memories from either Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas. (If you don't celebrate those holidays, feel free to pick a memory from one that you do celebrate.) Good Luck and Happy Holidays! Last edited by klance1 : 11-14-2010 at 03:03 PM. |

A couple days before Christmas one year, after watching Rudolph and Frosty on tv, I was out sledding with my cousin Emily. I was about 8 years old I think. I ran my sled into a light pole and was knocked unconscious. I cut my head open right on my left eyebrow. Had to get stitches. Apparently, when I came to, my mother asked me what my name was and I said "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."
This story just came to mind because of those nostalgic Xmas-time cartoons.

My favourite holiday moment was about 5 years ago when I went down to the Isle of Wight for Christmas as a lot of my Mum's side of the family live down there. Usually, we don't go down there and just have a Christmas at home in London because it's a bit of a hassle but it was nice to see everyone in the family for a change, so I remember that Christmas with great fondness.

This happened last year, we have a then 8-yr old daughter who still believes in santa. While shopping with my husband I told him we should get practical gifts to put in her xmas socks, gifts that was supposedly from santa. So we got her a pair of winter gloves and scarf. Christmas came and she was so excited to check what santa gave her, she went to check the sock and found the gloves and scarf, she said she loved it and that santa was "awesome". After opening all her gifts, we went to the table for our morning meal and it was then that she whispered "I can't believe santa gave me those gloves. I've been asking for a ds game and he gave me those. I just didnt want to hurt his feelings but I don't really think those gifts are awesome". My husband was laughing the whole time while looking at me
( This year I plan to put a ds game in her xmas socks to make up for it. |

My favorite Holiday memory is a special one. It was 20 years ago....I was with my older brother and his friends. He worked at a local fitness center. His friends were all hot. We snuck on the grounds on Christmas day. We had a nerf football. We climbed up to the top of the temporary dome for the tennis courts. It was scary, but fun. We played tag football up there. One of his friends kept on tackling me. Well, much to my brother's disagreement, we ended up dating. 20 years later, we are married and have 5 children.

I have tons of family memories that I love...but one of my favorite personal Holiday Memories would be from when I was 7 living in England and having a big family Christmas dinner with my Grandad...he passed away shortly after so it's one of my few memories of him...

Halloween in sixth grade was pretty nice. My school always dressed up and did a trip up to the nearby old folks home (we caroled during Christmas time). I dressed up as a robber and my best friend dressed up as big money bag. I enjoyed those activities at school and wish they still existed and people would quit putting a damper on everything!!!

It has to be this Christmas. Woke up yesterday morning and the family and I had snowflakes falling. It was a Winter WOnderland in the South. Then last night, more snow. Several inches. Hot chocolate, sleds, snowball fights and a gentle kiss under the missletoe topped the Holiday.
