Default The Rite Blu-ray Contest

The Rite Blu-ray Contest (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy)

Inspired by true events, The Rite is a chilling supernatural thriller that tells the story of a seminary student named Michael Kovak (Colin O'Donoghue), who is sent to study under the tutelage of legendary exorcist, Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins). At first, Michael is skeptical of the practice of exorcism, that is until he witnesses the work of Father Lucas first hand. Soon, the two become involved in a difficult case that tests the ability of Father Lucas. Michael eventually witnesses firsthand an evil so terrifying that he begins to rethink everything he believes.

Special Features: Chilling Alternate Ending, Meet the Real Father Lucas
Available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, On Demand and for Download 5/17.
Visit the Official The Rite Movie Site.

To Enter the Contest:

Do you believe in exorcism, or are you a skeptic like Michael in the movie? In a reply to this post, share your thoughts on demonic possession and state your position on the subject. Is it real or just great fodder for horror movies? As always, there is no length requirement for your post.

Good Luck!

I don't believe in exorcisms. I'm pretty much skeptical about everything involving religion. I think everything they do is staged and I think most of the people who are "possessed" probably just have a serious psychological illness.

I am skeptic when it comes to Humans having demons...but sure as heck know that animals can have demons. I swear a few of my cats and dogs have been possessed in the past. Demonic little things they were.

I am also a skeptic. It does make for a few entertaining movies though, but it's just silly really. Demonic possession?!

I'm skeptical, but I think it would be stupid to completely write off that these things don't exist or happen...There just seem to be too many cases out there of reported incidents. I guess it's one of those things where you'd have to see it to believe it...

I believe and don't believe at the same time. One part of me thinks there have been so many documented case's that there must be truth to it, but there's also the part that would like concrete proof that there are indeed things that can possess you

I'm on the fence on this one...on one hand, I believe that there MUST be evil forces on the earth - it explains some of my frenemies - on the other hand, I think they might just be mentally ill. So long as the ritual of an exorcism works to "rid" the person of their affliction, who cares? I think that you would HAVE to believe in demon possession and the affects of exorcisms if it is to work at all.

Thanks for the contest! Good luck, everyone!

I don't believe in demons, so I don't believe in demonic possession. Ergo, I don't believe in exorcism as a form of expelling demons from possessed individuals. It does make for some great (and hilarious) scenes in horror movies, though!

I don't believe in ghosts, ghouls, demons or anything of that sort but it would be cool if they were real. Unfortunately my logical brain can't grasp onto the fact that something like that could exist; I've seen nothing which convinces me in the slightest.

yes, i do believe in exorcisms, my belief is that a demon can possess your soul and you need to exorcise to drive them out. i have not seen this movie yet, so i don't know who Michael is, but yes i am very skeptic. i always think if lying is a really bad thing or not and i am not very easy to convince so i need a lot of points that i can agree to and except. and yes, ofcourse, i believe in demonic possession. and i think it's real. sorry for the random answer! lol. thank you!
