Contagion Blu-ray Contest
Synopsis: When Beth Emhoff (Gwyneth Paltrow) dies suddenly after returning from a Hong Kong business trip, her husband (Matt Damon) wants to know what was behind her sudden illness. The doctors are baffled, but when others start experiencing similar symptoms with the same inevitable conclusion, an unknown deadly virus seems to be the most likely culprit. A cough, a handshake, an airport bar's snack bowl - each of these routine daily actions, in addition to many more, are helping to spread the virus. A lone blogger (Jude Law) suspects that the public isn't being told everything about the contagion, however, his attempts at revealing the truth are only causing more people to panic. Special Features: "The Contagion Detectives", "Contagion: How a Virus Changes the World" For more information, visit the Official Warner Bros. Contagion Site. Available on Blu-ray, DVD and for Download on January 3, 2012. ![]() To Enter the Contest: In a reply to this post, state your favorite movie involving a type of infection or deadly virus. It can be an element in the movie or the main plot. Explain why you like the film. As always, there is no length requirement for your post. Would probably have to say 28 days Later...I just enjoy the whole virus / horror movie plot - Probably one of the best in the genre.

I was trying to come up with a different answer. I thought maybe a movie about HIV like Philadelphia, but 28 Days Later is just so good.

Rise of the planet of the apes. the drugs they used worked on apes, but it caused a deadly virus in humans. in the end of the movie, you see that it spreads all throughout the world.

i would have to say Philadelphia. Tom Hanks looked good in that movie and I like the title song Neil Young sang in it.

Outbreak.... I can still picture the person sneezing all over in the movie theater.

Without a doubt, my choice is Cabin Fever!
It had comedic value while still being genuinely scary and believable. The virus was absolutely disgusting and was almost a character itself, leaving a strong impression on the viewer long after the movie ended; The shaving scene is something I'll never ever be able to forget. It's not my "favorite" film (especially alongside so many great zombie films), but it's deffinately one of the most memorable films I've ever seen. |

Doomsday. The Doomsday virus in Scotland, then quarantined in London.

You might laugh, but Triple X.
The serum that is in the missles on the boat going through Prague is the virus and the action in this movie is great. |
