Jeeezsus yes, that movie is a hoot.
I think Planes, Trains and Autos is my all time fav of his, but it really is hard to single one out. He was priceless in Summer Rental too.

Even when John Candy had a small role in a film, it was always memorable, National Lampoon's Vacation as already mentioned.

I grew up loving spaceballs and who's harry crumb... I was devastated when I heard that he died, as he had been my favorite comedic actor... his timing and delivery was comic gold to me and he seem like a genuinely classy man. When he filmed only the lonely, it was reported that he gave up his trailer for the woman playing his mother because he felt she had earned it and he was paying respect to her...great guy

that scene always makes me cry. That, and the ending.

even though i know its an emotional moment....i can't help but laugh when steve martin says

"yer like a chatty cathy doll....only no one would have to pull the chord....you'd pull it yourself"
