Certainly a statement like that is completely subjective, but I would have to disagree about Citizen Kane being the best. Which movie IS the best of course will forever be debated and will never be proved, but I look for a canidate that doesn't have detractors. This is where I think Citizen Kane has been a victim of it's own success. Being labeled so publicly and for so long as "the best movie of all time" has given too many people license to berate and ultimately in some cases even resent this wonderful film. If I had to pick just one film though, I would probably say The Shawshank Redemption. While this isn't my favorite movie, I do think it's a perfect one. It's a movie that I think appeals to any kind of audience (young/old, men/women, black/white, rich/poor) and will be loved and enjoyed for many, many more decades to come. Thank you for the entry.

I don't think it's the best movie of all time. I don't have just one, but I have many favourites and this isn't even a favourite. Not to say, that it isn't a fantastic film that was extremely well made. Orson Welles was/is one of the most talented people in film ever.

Disagree.
It's a good story well told, but it lacks ambition and is poorly timed at certain points.
