Now, Michael Myers stalking and slashing those Doublemint twins--this I would pay to see! And while he's at it, he could bump of the author of that insipid jingle!

Default Rob Zombie's Halloween

Well since Rob Zombie denied that he is doing Halloween 9, he isnt totally out of the franchise. It seems that Bloody-Discusting got ahold of an official press release from The Weinstein company...

"Zombie's vision of this film is an entirely new take on the legend and will satisfy fans of the classic Halloween legacy while beginning a new chapter in the Michael Myers saga," states the press release. "This new movie will not only appeal to horror fans, but to a wider movie-going audience as well. It will not be a copycat of any prior films in the Halloween franchise. The film is set for an October 2007 theatrical release."

Same thing they said about Halloween III way back when.

Default Halloween remake by Rob Zombie

One of the things that bugs me the most about talk of Halloween begin remade is who they will have play Dr. Sam Loomis. No one will ever even come close to being able to making the character come alive like Donald Pleasence did but on the same hand, I still think the casting director needs to go about replacing Pleasence in a very serious matter. It means a lot to true fans like me that they find someone who will truly be great, not just anyone.

Thinking long and hard about it I've come up with one suggestion, that I think would actually work for the Dr. Loomis Character.

Bob Hoskins

All the rest of the characters will be hard to replace as well, but the Dr. Loomis character is the one I care about the most. Almost anyone can play Michael Myers, studying Nick Castle and Dick Warlock for a couple of weeks, it'd be rather simple to get down, the Dr. Loomis Character however is going to take a lot of talent and a lot of hard work.

I spent 8 years trying to reach him, then another 7 trying to keep him locked up, because I realized what was living behind that boys eyes, was purely and simply evil.

Who could you see? He's the only person I've thought of so far that would most likely keep the character in respect.

Well..looking at these two pics

I suppse there is a certain likeness..insomuch as they are both bald, British and with similar beards ..but Hoskins doesn't have that 'intensity' that Pleasance has..or if he does it's a different type of intensity. His voice is too harsh..to c0ckney..

If you look at pictures of Pleasance when he was younger (disregarding the fact he went bald aged about 20!)....I think Kevin Spacey might look more like a young Loomis if he had the beard..but he'd never appear in a Rob Zombie flick and I'm not sure he could get the accent right...

Also if you look at these (admittedly cropped) pics

I can see a similarity but again..you'd never get De Niro in a Rob Zombie flick..he's too old now and could he do the accent?

Anyway..to be perfectly frank I don't really have an idea who would play him and I don't really care..as I think Rob Zombie sucks as a film director and I won't be going to see this anyway...
I just thought that Hoskins wouldn't work as Loomis...

Never say never Crocker, remember that William H Macy is in the 4th Re-Animator movie as The President of the USA. Why he took that role is beyond me, but heck.. Its gonna be cool
