Well, As I didn't like Get Shorty, and am not overly impressed by the trailer or by the views of anyone who's seen it... I think I'll wait for the DVD rental...

Boy even then I'd wait for two for one night....and you'd still be paying too much.

Gee maybe you could rent Battlefield Earth and Be Cool for a double feature

I had Battlefield Earth forced on me just after Christmas.

Well, I was bribed actually... Was given a crate of beer to watch it with...

Even then, I wouldn't admit it was any good...

True in most cases, although I still crack up at Seth Green every time I watch Can't Hardly Wait.

Do you mean white people 'pretending' to be black (like Ali G) or white people acting black..like this:

Yeah, Laurence Olivier may have been England's greatest thespian (and there may not have been as many big name black actors at the time)..but all the same this is only a 'Lawdy, Lawdy' away from being very offensive indeed...

Even Alec Guinness was guilty!

But then you are speaking of a country who up until as recently as the early 80's still considered this

suitable entertainment to put out on the BBC in prime time on a Saturday. Hard to believe these days, eh?

. . . and don't forget the appalling C. Thomas Howell in the even more appalling Soul Man.

The movie had Vince Vaughn being a real jerky white guy, who was trying to be black..it really sucked...it was embarassing for him and for those of us watching it as well

Lol yes I have to admit I found him quite funny...I suppose it's ok if they're just the comic relief or a minor character but having Vince Vaughn, as a supporting character, doing it for the entire movie was just painful.

Well, I was out-voted last night and wound up watching Be Cool after all...

I actually liked the movie... Granted the plot was paper thin, but it was good, light entertainment...

But Vaughn's white guy being black did annoy me, but I think that was the point of the character.
The guy was just obnoxious in every sense...

I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Obviously this must have been one of the occasions where you had been heavily drinking prior to and or during the movie
