Default The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse

Well I went to see this last night very apprehensive. I've been a huge fan of the award winning three TV series but I was a bit concerened about how the writers had approached the subject.

I needn't have worried..the breakthough into 'the real world' by the characters from the fictional town of Royston Vasey is handled very well and works quite nicely.

The whole thing is surreal from the 'giraffe spunking over a load of old biddys' to the giant Three headed humuculous. Trying to explain the plot is a bit pointless...however..a number of characters from Royston Vasey discover that the entire town is infact the fictional creatuion of four writers (who have decided they no longer wish to write the series) and so a group of characters come to London to try to persuade the writers to continue writing.

Suffice to say..if you are familiar with the TV series (and you're a fan, obviously) you probably won't be disappointed. If you've never seen the TV series then you may well find this harder to fathom...

I laughed out loud many times (as did the small audience watching it with me in).
The LoG could well be an aquired taste..but IMO it's one well worth aquiring

Series 1 was 1999, series 2 was 2000 and series three was 2002 there was also a Christmas Special in 2001

A Google search on 'The League of Gentlemen' should give you enough hits to tell you everything you need to know...

However, you probably won't have seen it. Great as it is, I don't think the League Of Gentlemen has moved much beyond the borders of this sceptred isle. Certainly not as far as Delaware.

That said, it might have been on BBC America.

I believe, E that BBC America has shown at least the original series. I have spoken to Americans who have seen it...they may not nessessarily get the humour but they have seen it..so it must have been shown over there at some point.

Delaware...hardly 'local' is it?

What? Are we talking about the same definition of "local" here?
